About us

Canarian Black Bee Biene

My name is Selina Vogel and I have been living on the beautiful island of Lanzarote since 2018. Together with Klaus Guttenberger, I am dedicated to the care of the only certified organic beekeeping operations in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, committed to the protection of nature and bees.
My passion: nature
My great passion is bees, especially the black canary bee, a true natural beauty.

“This special species of bee is hardy, peaceful, and perfectly adapted to Lanzarote's harsh volcanic climate.”
For me, protecting them means preserving the diversity, life, and soul of this island.
My impulse
I firmly believe that:
“Without bees there is no future.”
That's why I dedicate my work to bees and everything that thrives on their flight.
If you'd like to learn more about our work or immerse yourself in the fascinating world of bees, I cordially invite you, become a "beekeeper for a day".

Sustainable Tourism: Heartfelt Experiences in Lanzarote

As a multilingual beekeeper, I offer authentic and educational experiences in small groups.

During our shared visit, which lasts approximately 2.5 hours, I will share my knowledge and passion for bees with you — directly in their natural environment.

You will learn how bees live, how they produce honey, and why protecting them is so important for the ecological balance of the island.

Together, we will open a beehive, and at the end, I invite you to a honey tasting: a selection of our own honey and organic varieties from different Canary Islands.

With your visit, you support a project that works with heart and dedication to protect our bees.

Live an exclusive experience as a “Beekeeper for a Day”, discover the canarian black bee, and enjoy the finest organic honey on the island.
